Each blossom is centred by a coloured gemstone, arranged in a balanced composition of seven rubies, seven blue sapphires and seven emeralds. The clean, vivid stones create jewel-like flashes of red, blue and green against the warm textured gold, while the engraved petals give the ring exceptional depth and movement.

The elongated marquise-shaped design provides elegant finger coverage without feeling oversized, and the raised openwork construction allows the individual flowers to remain clearly defined. The split gold shank balances the sculptural ring head and makes the piece comfortable and wearable despite its dimensional form.

Dating from the later 20th century, the ring reflects the organic, highly textured gold jewellery associated with European design of the 1960s and 1970s.
