Antique French Edwardian Aquamarine, Pink Tourmaline, Morganite Diamond Negligee Necklace

A refined French negligee necklace dating from the early 20th century, designed with two elegant asymmetric gemstone drops.

The necklace centres on a cushion-cut pink tourmaline framed by rose-cut diamonds. Suspended beneath are two articulated chain drops, one terminating in a pear-cut aquamarine and the other in a pear-cut pale pink gemstone believed to be morganite. Each is surrounded by rose-cut diamonds and surmounted by a small round diamond.

The pear-shaped drops are finely constructed with fluted closed backs in 18-carat gold, demonstrating particularly accomplished period workmanship. The contrasting pink, blue and blush tones create the delicate pastel palette associated with Edwardian and Belle Époque jewellery.

The stones remain in very good antique condition, with no significant surface abrasion observed. The pink tourmaline displays natural internal inclusions.

The chain bears a French import mark for platinum. The drop settings carry French assay marks for 18-carat gold and French import marks for silver.

The necklace is accompanied by its original antique fitted case marked “Brun, 12 Rue Daunou, Paris.”

A removable bespoke silver extender measuring approximately 8.5cm has been added to improve wearability without permanently altering the original necklace.
