Large Vintage Carved Jadeite Jade Dragon Pendant 24K Fine Gold Bail, Certified

A substantial vintage carved jadeite jade pendant depicting a dragon in high relief, suspended from a 9999 24K fine gold bail. The pendant displays soft icy translucency with delicate blue-green tones and finely carved detail throughout.
Carved from a single piece of jadeite, the dragon is portrayed with flowing movement, well-defined scales and finely modelled features, framed by stylised clouds in the traditional Chinese manner. The reverse is simply finished with carved scrollwork, allowing the natural character of the stone to remain the principal focus.
The jade exhibits a pleasing interplay of translucency and natural internal structure, with subtle variations in tone that become increasingly apparent as the pendant moves through changing light. Measuring approximately 70 mm in length and weighing 34 grams, it possesses an impressive scale while remaining elegant and wearable.
