Exquisite Vintage Cocktail Ring 7.15 Carat Rhodolite Garnet with Diamonds in 18K Gold

An exceptional vintage rhodolite garnet and diamond cluster ring, dating to circa 1970-1979 and attributed to the United Kingdom.

Fine rhodolite garnets, particularly associated with East Africa and Sri Lanka, are prized for vivid raspberry to purplish-red colour and brilliance, qualities this 7.15-carat stone displays particularly well.

The ring is centred with an impressive cushion-cut rhodolite garnet weighing approximately 7.15 carats. The stone displays a particularly vivid raspberry-red to rich purplish-red colour, with excellent saturation, strong brilliance and flashes of magenta and crimson as it moves through the light. Its generous proportions and beautifully executed cushion cut give the garnet considerable depth and presence.

The centre stone is surrounded by a complete halo of round brilliant-cut diamonds, estimated to total approximately 0.80 carats. The diamonds are estimated at VS–VVS clarity and H–I–J colour, providing a bright, crisp contrast to the saturated garnet.

Crafted in 18K yellow gold, the ring features an elevated open basket setting with elegant split shoulders. The open construction allows light to enter the garnet from multiple directions while giving the ring a refined and beautifully balanced profile.

The ring has recently been professionally detailed and repolished, and the central garnet has been professionally checked and secured. It presents in excellent condition.
